The Super-Intensive Program

9:00 am to 5:15 pm including an afternoon class each day dedicated to one specific skill and the choice of an IELTS Test Preparation Class or Conversation Class.

The Heartland Super-Intensive Program is a fully immersive English experience. From the classroom to exploring the city and cultural activities available, all students in all levels of language learning will improve their ability. The full-time program is open to all levels from Entry to Advanced.

For students who are hoping to work specifically to improve their speaking skills, the Super-Intensive class with the Conversation Class is the perfect program. Student’s will have 2 extra hours, Monday – Thursday, where the only focus is to chat about a variety of topics with a teacher. This is an all level class, so everyone can benefit.

For students preparing to take the IELTS Test at Heartland, choosing the Super-Intensive Program with the IELTS Preparation Class  is the best option. The IELTS class focuses on how the test is constructed, what the questions look like, what is expected of the test taker and includes practice test taking and feedback from the teacher.  Combining this with a full time English program is a great way to be as prepared as possible.

Details:

• • Teachers use material from the textbook as well as external, supplemented exercises. Each teacher uses unique teaching methods and creates lesson plans specific to the level they are teaching.

 

• • Students will  have the same homeroom teacher every morning of the week. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, students will have a different teacher.  This gives teachers and students a change to have a different learning experience.

 

• • There are two breaks in the day, one in the morning from 10:30am – 10:45am and one in the afternoon from 2:00pm – 2:10pm.

 

• • Friday afternoons are for the Heartland cultural Activity or students can choose to watch a movie at the school, or get extra tutoring or homework help.

 

• • Students take a placement test on their first Monday in order to determine their level.  They join their first class in the afternoon on the same day. The afternoon teacher on Monday is the same as their morning homeroom teacher.

 

• • The IELTS Preparation or Conversation Class teachers are also Heartland teachers that students will know as they also teach our regular program.
