Heartland’s English Programs are comprehensive English as a Second Language (ESL) programs for international learners. Heartland offers ESL programs to suit your learning needs – from beginner to advanced levels. Courses are designed for maximum student participation.
The Intensive English Program is a flexible ESL program focusing on improving your English ability. The Semi-Intensive program is available for students who would like to study part-time. For maximum English practice, the Super-Intensive program includes regular classes plus either an IELTS preparation class or a conversation class.

Semi-Intensive runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and focuses on all skills (including listening, reading, writing, and speaking)
Intensive runs from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and also includes an afternoon class each day dedicated to one specific skill
Super-Intensive runs from 9:00 am to 5:15 pm and includes an extra afternoon class: IELTS Preparation Class or Conversation Class
IELTS Preparation or Conversation Class runs from 3:15 pm to 5:15 pm and can be taken separately
Basic to advanced level instruction with a focus on all skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking
Students are placed in appropriate level based on the placement test on the first day of classes
For maximum student participation — Average 15 students per class. Maximum 20 students.
Weekly activities organized to allow students to use their English in a variety of real situations outside of the school
Students with a visitor or work authorization may study for up to six months.
On a student authorization, students may study up to one year or longer
Heartland Tips to continue English at home: Practice Pronunciation when you can. A little bit of pronunciation practice can make a big difference. 10-15 minutes per day for 2-3 weeks is all that it takes to completely change one bad pronunciation habit. You need to repeat over and over and over and over the correct way so that your mouth remembers. The important thing is conditioning. You can also practice pronunciation by imitating TV show characters as you watch. Make sure you try to imitate everything… the rhythm, the word stress, the pronunciation.
